Sustainable Design / LEED Certification

Teeter Engineering Group is committed to protecting the environment. Whether it is through sustainable design practices or recycling & waste reduction efforts in our office, we strive to do our part in preserving our planet for future generations.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)™ is critically important to environmentally sustainable and healthy development. Our LEED Accredited Professionals (AP) represent all of our engineering disciplines. Our LEED AP’s focus on: sustainable development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. The US Green Building Council (www.usgbc.org) continues to advance the LEED Green Building Rating System™. Through these organizations, we are able to educate ourselves and our clients on being Good Stewards. This responsibility dictates that we take every effort to educate our clients on their responsibilities to the environment.
Teeter Engineering Group has guided several clients through the MEP portion of the LEED Certification process. A few notes of distinction; Teeter Engineering Group designed the first privately owned LEED Gold Certified Commercial Interiors project as well as the first attemped LEED Gold Highrise Office Tower in the region. We continue to strive to be leaders in promoting Sustainable Design practices that benefit our communities.

LEED™ certification is a great program but not all projects fit into the LEED template, for those projects Teeter Engineering believes that owners can use LEED principles to provide every project with some level of sustainable design. Examples include:

  • Energy efficient electrical systems.
  • Energy efficient mechanical systems.
  • Photovatolic solar power systems.
  • Solor water heating systems.
  • Low consumption plumbing fixtures.
  • Harvested graywater/rainwater systems.

See Efficiency/Conservation Page for a complete list of design services.
