Megger Testing

On occasion, circumstances require a complete megger test of a facility. A megger test is conducted to test the insulation properties of electrical wiring and motor windings as well as test for continuity of grounding systems for special applications (i.e. swimming pools and under floor heating systems.) Using a 4000 Megohmmeter with DC voltage ranges from 250V to 1000V we are equipped and approved to conduct these tests.

Once scheduled, we will complete the test, write a report to describe our results and submit this report to the proper inspection department.  This report will be issued in place of a rough inspection in most counties.  After the inspection department is in receipt of this report, the contractor overseeing the project may request a final inspection provided other trades are complete.

To request a megger test for your facility, please download the Megger Test request form, complete the necessary information, and return to Teeter Engineering Group, PA.  We will contact you to schedule the test.  On the day of the test, have the electrical contractor complete all items on the Pre-Test Checklist prior to the scheduled time of testing.
